KFC Opens at Shell Kabalagala



Vivo Energy, the company that distributes and markets Shell branded fuels and lubricants in Africa, has joined force with Kuku foods Uganda (The franchisee for KFC Uganda) in opening of a the 5th KFC restaurant at Shell Kabalagala.


Vivo Energy has invested in a programme to upgrade its Shell service stations to offer a wider range of services to both shoppers and motorists who visit Shell service stations.

The Managing Director of Vivo Energy Uganda, Mr Hans Paulsen, said that the company is constantly adding value to our customers’ experience when they visit our Shell service stations:“Our partnership with KFC is one way we are making our customers’ lives better and easier. You can now pick up Colonel Sanders secret recipe chicken when you come to fuel at our Shell Kabalagala or sit down for other delicious treats with your family, friends or colleagues while you service your car at our station.”

as a highly preferred Quick Service Restaurant, KFC is well positioned for our customers located around Kabalagala, Muyenga, Kansanga, Bunga, Kawuku and their surrounding areas. It is a high traffic,prime area and is one of our busiest service stations,” he added.

The Managing Director of Kuku Foods East Africa the KFC Franchisee, Mr Derrick Van Houten, said "Our expansion of KFC into East Africa is one that we take very seriously, we want to get our brand to reach as many consumers as possible and have them try our delicious product while enjoying them in world class restaurants"

At the opening event, a launch promotion was unveiled where for the next 30 days, the first 15 customers buying a KFC bucket will get free fuel. Both Derrick and Hans encouraged their customers to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Vivo Energy has identified 18 priority sites in Uganda that are being upgraded by the end of 2015 to offer extra services to customers, including basic groceries, coffee on the go, a quick meal, or car wash and service.Most recently, Kaahwa2go was opened at Shell Jinja Road and Café Pap at Shell Bukoto in Ntinda, among others.

Vivo Energy is keen to partner with professionals who share in its ambition to invest and grow to increase access to these services for customers.
